Share and collaborate across the world

Padlet is a chrome extension that's designed to help you create and collaborate with others. Like a sheet of paper, the walls of this productivity tool allow you to add any multimedia you want like text, photos, videos, etc. which can then be shared from any smartphone, tablet, or computer device.

Garnering more than 5 million users, it is often used for brainstorming, teaching, note-taking, and many more. It is a great alternative for other web browsers collaboration tools such as Lino and Scrumblr. Although it offers some subscription packages, a free plan is still available for you to utilize.

What is Padlet for?

Whether it’s for group projects at school or presentations in the office, Padlet is the perfect place to create an idea from nothing with your friends or co-workers. Sharing ideas can be difficult in professional settings, especially when people are in and out of the workplace, but with this handy utility, it can all be done right in your browser, from any device you like.

Pass along videos, images, text, documents, or whatever you think will help to spark ideas and forward your line of thinking. On top of that, it just freshly introduced various excellent features which include built-in video and audio recording. However, its free basic plan is pretty limited in functions and capacities. Your entire user experience will be filled with intrusive ads.

How do students log in to Padlet?

A student will be able to join a Padlet class, through a unique link provided by your teacher. This will then lead you to the platform's wall wherein several posts or questions that require some answers and engagement can be seen. If you are familiar with how Windows's built-in Sticky Notes look, you will find similarities with it.

It is important to note as well that you will need to log in or sign up here to be easily recognized by your professor. You can either create an account using your Google, Microsoft, or Apple IDs. You can manually make one within the browser app as well. This way your comments, answers, and participation in the discussion board are now identified under your name.

All information in one place

The greatest asset of Padlet is its walls which easily became a unified place where important information is kept. Like a glorified bulletin board, a wall can be a place where others are kept updated on current events, with information that is crucial like news, announcements, lessons, etc. All of your resources can be put there for as many eyes to see as possible. This will come in handy especially for online class settings.

This program is Windows 11 compatible.

PROS

  • Add a variety of files
  • Share and collaborate with others
  • Access on any device
  • Unified place of information

CONS

  • Only for users with Chrome browsers

  • Intrusive ads in free plan

Also available in other platforms

I love padlet, but the app doesn't export files, as far as I can tell. Better to use the other apps and the online platform.
